Los Angeles jazz vocalist Gretje Angell was born into jazz, growing up in clubs as the daughter and granddaughter of jazz drummers. After overcoming stage fright and studying classical voice and opera, she found her true home in jazz.

Known for her warm, expressive vocals and effortless swing, Gretje blends lush ballads, upbeat swing, and Brazilian rhythms with sophistication and heart. She leads her own ensembles and performs with acclaimed groups including the Ladd McIntosh Swing Orchestra, Jack's Cats, and Glen Garrett's Big Band.
